Buda Island

You'll find Buda Island nestled between the arms of the river Leie. An island for the city's artistic visitors. Kortrijk's entertainment district boasts the Buda Tower,a platform  where artists from right across the spectrum can do their thing. In the Budascoop, you can enjoy the better non-commercial films. BUBOX is a space for contemporary visual arts which has resolutely opted for artists who handle the space and its surroundings in their own quirky and artistic way. Every year, a challenging programme is presented with five projects. Buda Beach invites young and old to relax against the beautiful backdrop of the Leie. In the summer, this park is transformed into a beach with lawn for relaxing. The Buda Factory is an impressive place where designers, entrepreneurs, artists, students and active citizens join forces. The old building was redesigned by the architectural firm of Flemish Master Builder Peter Swinnen. Along the street side, a pentagonal extension was added to the building to give it a more expressive facade. The factory, covering an area of 3,000 m², has is enough space for exhibitions, workshops and studios. There is even a prototype lab with 3D printers, laser cutters and lots of other machines for creative makers.
