Guided theme walks for groups

A city walk introduces you to the most important monuments of Kortrijk's history. You will visit the historic premises of the city hall, with its beautiful fireplaces and wall paintings. At the Grote Markt market square, stop at the Belfry, where Manten and Kalle strike the hours. A hundred metres further on, you enter an oasis of peace and quiet in the heart of the city centre: the unique Sint-Elisabeth beguinage. You walk along the winding cobbled streets between whitewashed houses. In the nearby 13th-century Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk, with its rich interior, be sure to visit the fascinating Gravenkapel. Your visit ends at the majestic Broeltorens towers.

This beer tour is the perfect way to discover the Begijnhof, the Groeningekouter (Guldensporenslag) and the old river banks of the Leie as cultural heritage. Did you know that in the golden days, Kortrijk was the Belgian city with the largest beer supply, with one brewery for every six families?

During this Beer walk, every participant can substitute water or a soft drink of their choice at any time for one or more beer tastings. So everyone can join and enjoy the beer story and city tour.

And of course, we take the opportunity to test the knowledge we have gained through taste experiments. We start with beer tasting and snacks at the pub. We then enjoy a main course with just the right beer accompaniment at a restaurant.

Kortrijk has a long tradition of international trade. Kortrijk flax was already one of the most important Flemish exports back in the Middle Ages. The city developed a reputation for craftsmanship, quality design, and entrepreneurship thanks to this flowering plant.

Various wars and economic setbacks forced the textile industry to reinvent itself multiple times. This inevitable transformation made the Kortrijk region what it is today: creative and resilient. As a result, Kortrijk was awarded membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 31 October 2017 in the domain of design.
